Getting to know “Ableton Live”

The first time I got to see Ableton live was some years ago at a friend’s house. It was one of the program’s earlier versions, I think it was Ableton 5. At that time I couldn’t imagine that it would become such an important tool in my work. It took me not so long time to master, I guess it was not so difficult for me. I had been working with other music making software such as Logic, Cubase, Finale and other I cannot recall now. What took longer was understanding how the plug-ins, midi instruments and audio effects work internally, what does each one of the parameters inside and the resulting sound. Also, there is “max for live” that is like a programming language. It revealed to me the almost unlimited possibilities of manipulation of the digital music. In Max i will do in-depth studies in the coming years.
